Who Are IASB? The IASB, headquartered in London, develops and approves International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). Formed in 2001, the IASB replaced the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) with a mission to "promote convergence on a single set of high-quality, understandable, and enforceable global accounting standards."

The IASB structure has the following main features: The IASC Foundation is an independent organization having two main bodies, the Trustees and the IASB, as well as a Standards Advisory Council and the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee.
